What the site stores itself
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
site:theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme | Until you clear it |
This value never leaves your device. There is no analytics script, no tracking pixel and no site-issued cookie on the current build.
Advertising
If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to show and measure ads. Typical purposes include frequency capping, fraud prevention and — where you have consented — personalisation. Those cookies are set by Google, not by this site.
| Provider | Typical purpose | Control |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdSense / DoubleClick | Ad selection, measurement, fraud prevention | Google My Ad Center |
Consent
Where local law requires consent for advertising cookies, a consent message is shown before those cookies are set. Declining does not block the site; it may make ads less relevant. You can change your choice at any time through the consent link in the footer, once that link is present at launch.
How to control cookies
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and local storage in their settings.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices.
- Blocking all storage will reset your theme choice on every visit, but the guides still work.
Third-party services that may see your request
Hosting and security are provided by Cloudflare, and the newsletter form is processed by Forminit (getform.io). These providers process ordinary request data such as IP address and user agent to deliver the page or the form. Their own policies apply to that processing.
Changes
If a new tool is added — for example analytics or a comment system — this page is updated before it goes live, and the date at the top changes.
