Silver Palace World and Story: Silvernia Explained

Silvernia is a Victorian industrial city built on one substance: Silverium, a liquid metal that drives machines and produces effects close to magic. The story starts with a ceremony that went wrong.

CBT2 data Updated 2 November 2026 · Launch values may differ

Short answer: the game is Silver Palace and the city is Silvernia. Silverium made the city rich, layered it vertically and turned it into a centre of invention, commerce and political power. Three years before the story opens, a queen's honours ceremony aboard the Floating Palace was sabotaged and the airship crashed. The Detective survived, was named a suspect and vanished for three years. The calendar now reads Year 3 of Queen Feliana's reign, and the Detective has returned to reopen the S.T.A.T.S. agency on Morgue Street.

What is Silvernia, and why does Silverium matter?

Silvernia was a small settlement before Silverium was found. The liquid metal drives machinery, produces effects that look magical, and its discovery triggered industrialisation that pulled people in from everywhere. Under centralised management the city became a centre of invention, commerce and political power.

The official framing is a city at the turning point between prosperity and decline, where the line between reality and fable is blurred. Crime and investigation are part of ordinary life, which is why the setting is described as a golden age for detectives. Silverium can be converted into different phases, and those phases are the seven Reactors the combat system is built on. The district map breaks the city down street by street.

What happened at the honours ceremony three years ago?

The prologue moves the clock back three years. Two detectives of common birth, the siblings Hugin and Munin, are invited aboard the Floating Palace to receive honours from the queen. Before the ceremony they notice a security gap and split up to investigate. A guard then lunges at the queen in an assassination attempt linked to the Purists. One sibling stops the assassin with the gauntlets the queen had just given them; the other cuts the fuse on a planted bomb.

The assassin dies in a burst of silver liquid. The airship's core reactor overloads, two hostile creatures form, and the Floating Palace crashes. The sibling the player does not control is lost in the confusion. The survivor is the only commoner who was aboard, and the nobility names that Detective as the person responsible. The Detective leaves Silvernia under that cloud and stays away for three years.

Who are Hugin and Munin?

They are the two faces of the playable Detective, both five-star, both Gravitas, both Hero. Hugin carries the epithet The Raven's Beak and Munin carries The Raven's Claws. At the prologue's naming scene you choose which sibling to play and give them a name; the other becomes the sibling whose fate drives the plot.

Their agency is S.T.A.T.S. on Morgue Street. It was sealed after the crash and is reopened when the Detective comes back, which is the visible sign that the three-year absence is over. The agency doubles as the hub for case work and for the companion systems covered in the case structure guide.

What is the Floating Palace?

The Floating Palace is the whale-shaped airship built from Silverium that hosts the honours ceremony. Its interior is described as animal bone and plant veins woven together with mosaic panels, an organic style that press coverage compared to Gaudi architecture. It is a setting and a symbol rather than a district you can visit freely.

The crash also explains the city's mood: the most important public ceremony in recent memory ended in a wreck, and the only civilian survivor was blamed.

What are the city's social layers?

Silvernia is vertical. Official material describes skyscrapers and luxury levels above, a festival layer at street level, and poorer districts below that. Silverium-powered infrastructure, including the reactor equipment that supplies the city's electricity and industrial capacity, is controlled by corporate monopolies, so the skyline is also a map of who owns what.

Altitude is content: roofs, rails and interiors are part of exploration, and the social gap is part of the writing. The cases tend to sit where the city's wealth meets its poverty.

Which factions in Silver Palace actually have official names?

Fewer than the fan wikis suggest. Official channels have only ever grouped two factions under a Faction Gallery: S.T.A.T.S. and the River Constabulary. Everything else comes from official social posts, English-language data sites or press coverage. The official line confirms only that multiple factions compete over Silverium, without publishing a full roster. Treat the table below as partial and provisional.

FactionWhat it isName status
River ConstabularyCity police, navy-founded, crown-backed, company-fundedOfficial English name
S.T.A.T.S.The Detective's agency on Morgue StreetOfficial English name
MISSMaid association; Alf is Maid No. 49Official English name

United Mining IndustryMining company; Bentham is an office secretaryNot officially fixed

The River Constabulary was founded with naval leadership, royal authorisation and corporate money, and still works out of old naval offices; it keeps order with little authority against the other powers. MISS is Alf's maid association, House Luna is Cynthia II's house, and the United Mining Industry employs Bentham under an English name that is not settled.

What is the Fableborne — a faction or a character class?

The honest answer is that nobody outside the developers knows. One English data site tags Cinderella with the Fableborne, which reads like a faction. Another uses the same word as a rank or arc prefix while listing Rex's affiliation as the River Constabulary, which reads like a character classification based on fairy-tale archetypes. Both readings are plausible, so this site treats the Fableborne as unconfirmed rather than as an organisation.

Two other names need the same caution. The Purists appear in the prologue as the assassins' cause, described as opponents of Silverium and mining reform. The Candle Man is the shadowy figure who interfered with the airship. Both come from English press coverage, and neither has an officially published Chinese name.

Version note: story details and organisation names here come from the CBT2 build (23 July – 13 August 2026) and official English channels. United Mining Industry, Purists, Candle Man and the Fableborne are not officially fixed in every language, and the global launch on 14 December 2026 may rename or reclassify them. Common questions

Is Silver Palace the city or the game?

Silver Palace is the game. The city is Silvernia, and the two names are not interchangeable in official material.

Why was the Detective blamed?

The survivor was the only commoner aboard the Floating Palace. The nobility pointed at the outsider rather than at the security failure, and the accusation stuck.

Are all the factions confirmed?

No. Only S.T.A.T.S. and the River Constabulary appear in an official faction gallery. The rest are official-adjacent or data-site names and should be treated as provisional.
