Silver Palace Argos Build: Confession and Piercing Gaze

Argos is a 4★ Glacies Witness built around a twelve-point Confession bar and a stance that turns his fourth hit into a draw-cut. The CBT2 loop, the team buff window and the MISS conflict are below.

CBT2 data Updated 2 November 2026 · Launch values may differ

Short answer: fill Confession to 12 with Cane and Spirits, then spend it all on Celebratory Champagne to enter Piercing Gaze for 10 seconds. In Piercing Gaze, hit four becomes a draw-cut, and a successful parry triggers the same slash immediately. A Lv2 charged draw inside the stance gives the whole team +10% damage for 40 seconds.

What is Argos's Confession loop?

Confession is a twelve-point bar. Cane and Spirits builds it across a four-hit Glacies string, and Celebratory Champagne spends the entire bar at once. Spending it does not just deal damage; it opens Piercing Gaze for 10 seconds. That makes the loop a cycle of bank, spend and enter, rather than a damage skill on cooldown.

The bar is small enough to fill quickly. Twelve points means one or two clean strings, not a long ramp. The real decision is timing: do you spend at twelve immediately, or hold the bar until the boss is about to commit to a long animation so the 10-second stance overlaps with your party's burst?

How does Piercing Gaze change Cane and Spirits?

Inside the stance, the fourth hit of Cane and Spirits automatically becomes a draw-cut. That changes the payout of the string without changing the first three inputs. The draw-cut is also the strongest single basic hit in the kit at 48.75%, so entering the stance is effectively an upgrade to the end of every string.

The stance lasts 10 seconds from the moment Celebratory Champagne resolves. That is long enough for one full string, a charged attack and a swap, but not long enough to waste. Do not spend the first seconds repositioning; start the string as the skill ends.

How do you trigger the draw-cut without the stance?

A successful parry does it. Immediately after a parry, pressing the basic attack performs the draw-cut even if Piercing Gaze is not active. That gives Argos a defensive answer that is also an offensive payout: parry the yellow ring, then take the slash.

The other route is the charged attack. Lv1 is an uppercut draw with invincibility during the animation, and after a successful dodge the basic attack links into Lv2. A perfect dodge also lets you go directly to the Lv2 charged draw. Those routes are why the kit rewards reading the ring colour rather than simply holding the string.

When does the team damage buff apply?

Only on the Lv2 charged attack while Piercing Gaze is active. If the three-stage draw lands during the stance, the whole party gets +10% damage for 40 seconds. The buff is attached to the charged input, not to the stance itself and not to Celebratory Champagne.

That makes the highest-value sequence: enter Piercing Gaze, reach the Lv2 charged draw, land it, then swap to your main damage dealer inside the 40-second window. The condition is specific, so a party that never uses the charged draw never sees the buff.

What do his charged attacks do?

Lv1 is the uppercut draw at 15.67%, with invincibility during the animation. Lv2 is the three-stage draw at 41.64%, and it is the one that carries the team buff when used in Piercing Gaze. The leap in value between the two levels is the reason to learn the shortcut into Lv2 rather than settle for Lv1.

The basic string values are 9.75% / 21.66% / 28.14% / 42.24%, with the special draw-cut at 48.75%. The pursuit attack is 17.88%. These are modest numbers compared with a dedicated damage dealer, which is consistent with the Combat Support label: Argos is paid for the stance and the team buff, not for personal damage.

Is Argos a current MISS member?

The record is split. One data source lists his affiliation as MISS, the maid association, alongside Alf. Another wiki lists him as a former MISS member. His official character bio says he joined MISS to get ahead in life and then chose to listen from behind a bar, which supports the former-member reading without confirming it.

We are not picking a side. The safe description is that he is recorded in MISS records and is also described as a former member. His bar name is a separate unresolved point: the official bio says "behind the bar" without naming it, and the community names conflict. No bar name is used on this site.

What role does Argos fill?

The data set labels him Combat Support. His kit brings group sustained healing and an area stun device on top of the Confession loop, and his damage numbers are deliberately lower than the dedicated damage dealers. The value is the Piercing Gaze window and the 40-second team buff.

Pair him with a party that can convert a 40-second damage window, not with a party that spreads damage evenly. The team building page covers that logic, the roster page places him among the Witness characters, and the Cynthia II build covers the other Alba and Witness support angle.

If you want the general rules behind the parry draw and the resource spend, the combat guide explains the shared timings. Argos is one of the clearest examples of a kit that is stronger on defence than on offence.

Version note: all percentages, resource caps and pity counts on this site are CBT2 values from the PC build. The global launch on 14 December 2026 may retune them. Each page is dated; this one was last checked on 2 November 2026.

Common questions

Does Celebratory Champagne need full Confession?

It spends the entire bar, so the practical answer is yes: you want to spend at or near the 12-point cap rather than fire it early.

Does the team buff stack?

No stacking is documented. The CBT2 data describes one +10% damage effect for 40 seconds triggered by the Lv2 draw in Piercing Gaze.

Can Argos trigger a draw-cut without the skill?

Yes. A successful parry followed by a basic attack performs the draw-cut even outside Piercing Gaze.

Which bar does Argos work at?

The bar name is unconfirmed. The official bio says behind a bar without naming it, and the community names conflict, so no name is used here.
