Silver Palace Bentham Build: Contract Circle

Bentham is a 4★ Glacies Outlaw who fights with an office worker's patience: four blade hits bank Funds, a drawn ring turns those into a multi-hit, and Liquid Assets buy the burst. Here is how the circle works in CBT2.

CBT2 data Updated 2 November 2026 · Launch values may differ

Short answer: land all four Hidden Blade hits to bank Funds at 1.5 / 3.2 / 6 / 10, then hold dodge or attack to draw the Contractual Circle. Inside it, hold attack for a multi-hit string worth 0.3 Funds per hit. Spend one Liquid Asset to boost a hit; six in a row triggers an extra attack. A parry resumes at hit 2, a perfect dodge gives a heavy hit worth 4 Funds and resumes at hit 3.

What are Funds and Liquid Assets?

Bentham runs two resources, not one. Funds is the bar that fills from the basic attack; Liquid Assets is a stock you hold and spend. Hidden Blade, the four-hit blade string, gives 1.5 Funds on hit 1, 3.2 on hit 2, 6 on hit 3 and 10 on hit 4. The CBT2 sheet does not describe how Liquid Assets are earned.

The distinction matters because the circle spends them differently. Funds accrue in fractions per hit inside the ring; Liquid Assets are consumed one at a time to upgrade a hit. One is a running total, the other is ammunition. Confusing them is the fastest way to waste a setup.

How do you draw the Contractual Circle?

Hold dodge or hold attack and Bentham draws the Contractual Circle on the ground. It is a placed zone, not a buff and not an attack, and the rest of the kit is designed to be used inside it.

That makes positioning the first decision of every string. Drawing the circle where the target will be standing in two seconds is worth more than drawing it at your feet, because everything that pays out happens inside the ring. If the target leaves, you are standing in an empty contract.

What does the circle do to your combo?

Inside the circle, holding attack runs a multi-hit string that generates 0.3 Funds per hit. The individual hit damage is not published in the CBT2 data, so the circle is best understood as a Funds engine: a long string of small payments rather than one large one.

The cost is commitment. You are standing still, holding a button, inside a zone you drew yourself. That is a fine trade against an elite in a stagger window and a poor trade against an enemy with a ready area attack. Time the circle for the moment after you have broken something, not the moment before.

How do Liquid Assets change the circle?

Each hit inside the circle can spend one Liquid Asset to deal more Glacies damage. Spending six in a row triggers an additional attack as a bonus. That is the burst pattern: bank assets, enter the circle, then hold attack and let the string consume them.

Because the bonus is keyed to six consecutive spends, the number to watch is not your total stock but whether you can reach six without interruption. With only two assets, the sixth-spend bonus is simply unavailable, and the circle is a Funds engine only. Keep the count visible before you commit.

Which defensive inputs skip hits?

Both defensive outcomes are upgrades rather than resets. A parry puts you directly on hit 2, which is worth 3.2 Funds. A perfect dodge gives a heavy hit worth 4 Funds and then lets you continue at hit 3, worth 6 more. That is the fastest two-input opening in the kit.

InputResult
ParryResume Hidden Blade at hit 2 (3.2 Funds)
Perfect dodgeHeavy hit worth 4 Funds, then resume at hit 3
Hold dodge or attackDraw the Contractual Circle
Hold attack inside the circleMulti-hit string at 0.3 Funds per hit
Spend a Liquid Asset in the circleBoost that hit with Glacies damage
Spend six Liquid Assets consecutivelyExtra attack

Neither shortcut is described as preserving the whole string, so treat them as entry points rather than free progress. The best sequence is a perfect dodge into the heavy hit and then hit 3, which is 4 Funds plus 6 across two inputs.

What does Resonance DPS mean?

The CBT2 role label is Resonance DPS on a 4★ Glacies Outlaw. Resonance is the game's stacking damage system, not a counter chart: no reactor beats another, and there is no matchup to exploit. A Resonance DPS is judged by how well the kit converts the team's Resonance investment into damage, which is why the circle's many small hits matter more than any single percentage.

Bentham is also an Outlaw while working as a secretary, one of the roster's nicer contradictions. For how Resonance levels are shared across a party, the resonance guide is the place to check the stacking rules; team building covers who stands where in a four-character party.

Is the United Mining Industry name official?

Bentham works as a secretary in the general office of United Mining Industry. That English company name comes from English-language data sites and has not been officially fixed, so treat it as a working translation rather than a confirmed name. The role is confirmed; the employer's official English name is not.

Why it matters: company names tend to appear in quest text and faction lists at launch, and a guide that asserts an unconfirmed name sends players looking for a term the game may never use. The character is unambiguous; the label is not. The safest wording is the same one used here — United Mining Industry, name not officially fixed.

When should you field Bentham?

Bentham is a setup character: the damage is real, but it arrives through a placed zone rather than a single button. Field him when the party has nothing else to convert a Glacies alignment into, or when the fight gives you a target that will hold its ground long enough for the circle to pay.

Both rows assume the same precondition: count the Liquid Assets first. With two in hand the sixth-spend bonus is out of reach, and the circle is a Funds engine rather than the burst slot.

Version note: all percentages, resource caps and pity counts on this site are CBT2 values from the PC build. The global launch on 14 December 2026 may retune them. Each page is dated; this one was last checked on 2 November 2026. Launch values may differ.

Common questions

Are Liquid Assets the same as Funds?

No. Funds is the bar built by Hidden Blade and the circle string. Liquid Assets are a separate stock you spend one at a time to boost hits.

How many hits does the circle string have?

The CBT2 sheet does not publish a hit count. What it publishes is the income: 0.3 Funds per hit, with a Liquid Asset spend available on each.

Do you need six Liquid Assets for the bonus?

Yes. Six consecutive spends triggers the extra attack, so a smaller stock gives you the boosted hits without the finisher.

Is Bentham a support or a damage dealer?

The role label is Resonance DPS. The circle is a damage setup, not a heal or a shield, even though the character's day job is office work.
